Proclus’ first Homily On The Holy Virgin, The Bohairic Theotokia Of Wednesday And A Sahidic Hymn In The Hamuli Antiphonary

Proclus, archbishop of Cyzicus, pronounced a homily on the Theotokos in the presence Nestorius, probably at the end of 430 AD. References to it are found in two liturgical Coptic texts, the Wednesday Theotokia in Bohairic and the hymn number 143 of the Hamuli Antiphonary in Sahidic. We can analyse the translation of Greek concepts in both of the Coptic languages, with astonishing results.
