Professional life in Egypt through daily life texts and Coptic artefacts (from the 3rd to the 7th century AD)

Integrating one’s thoughts and beliefs in the workplace is a socio- psychological phenomenon that has existed since ancient times until today. This lecture will discuss some practical and spiritual thoughts which influenced professional life in Late Antique Egypt . This will be investigated in the light of surviving textual and visual evidence from Egypt. The lecture also aims to explore the socio-economic circumstances of specific professions and investigate how these circumstances defined the daily practices of professionals in their workplaces.
